Architecture Beijing (located in Dongzhimen area) is currently seeking motivated and creative architects and designers to join our team. JOB OPENING PROJECT ARCHITECT 5-year professional architectural degree or equivalent international degree is required. 5-8 years of solid experience working in leading architectural offices worldwide on projects of various scale and complexity; Knowledge of design and construction at all phases; able to organize and lead design team, coordinate with consultants. JUNIOR ARCHITECT 5-year professional architectural degree or equivalent international degree is required. 2+ years of solid experience working in leading architectural offices; Self motivated and good team player; proficiency in related software; OFFICE ASSISTANT Day to day management of office for smooth operation; assist in publication; translation between English and Chinese for architectural documents; research for early phase of projects. Good communication skill is required. Related background in architecture and art is a plus. Proficiency in written and spoken English is a plus. ABOUT O.P.E.N. ARCHITECTURE O.P.E.N. Architecture was founded in New York City in 2002. It was a studio for architecture research and experimentation, as well as a platform for collaborations among designers from different fields. By actively but selectively engaging in projects of different scale and program, O.P.E.N. hopes to remain an open and unconventional practice while keeping our strength in research and innovation. We have a relatively small and very capable team. The principals of O.P.E.N. have received their architectural education from Tsinghua University, Rice University and Princeton University. They have been the lead designers for many high profile projects world wide. They have built works and on going projects in America, France, Korea, India and China. Besides practice, the principals are also teaching at Columbia University and Tsinghua University. O.P.E.N. believes that research is the foundation for design and creation. So while actively engaging in practice, O.P.E.N. has also undertaken urban research projects in parallel, some of which were funded by institutions such as the Graham Foundation. O.P.E.N. Architecture was featured as “emerging architect” by Architectural Record in March 2004. Its work has been published in New Architecture in China, Architectural Record, Hinge Magazine, and I.D. Magazine; O.P.E.N. is one of the offices featured in the book Domus+78 Chinese Architects / Designers.
