The focus of UAS is to explore the universal and essential meaning of design as a social sculpture in architectural, urban and furniture field, and ultimately establish its own identity. By emphasizing the exploration of possibilities in design and the “here and now” of construction, UAS pursues the balance of future and present, macrocosm and microcosm, experiments and realizations. Since its beginning, the firm has been strengthened by joining of architects returning from Europe and US; and talented designers graduated from Tsinghua University and Central Academy of Fine Arts. The firm now has 15 architects and designers. We believe creativity and pursuit for perfection is our core competitiveness. After several years of hard working, UAS now has become a very active and creative design force in China’s contemporary architectural field. Design Philiosophy We believe that architecture is a fascinating and effective tool to define the way of living, and culture of a society. It is also a powerful media to improve our environment and quality of life, and realize social ideals. Therefore, we emphasize diversity, individual identity and creativity in our practice. 1. Diversity Architecture is a media encompassing art, science, business and culture. We care about this diversity. We begin our idea with an open mind and conduct our studies with a multi-disciplinary approach. We make decision with a comprehensive understanding of various perspectives such as from designers, owners, city planners, contractors and end users. 2. Individual identity We consider each project as site specific, event specific, people specific and time specific. On a landscape of globalization, mass production and consumerism, we try to create value by exploring the specific conditions and individual identities of each project. 3. Creativity Design is a creative action. We try to avoid preconceived notions, avoid stylization and formulas. We refuse to make signature architecture. We believe design is a process of exploration. Architecture is always a balancing act of immutability and constant change. To make architecture we have to keep questioning and there is no ready-made answer. Headquarter Office Building Complex Current openings: 1. Senior Project Architect This position requires design sensibility, direct project management and team leadership responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years' of experience as project manager and designer on a variety of building and planning projects, demonstrable project management, design, strong technical and computer skills, and the ability to work with staff, clients, and management at all levels. A degree in architecture and architectural registration is required. 2.Interior Designer The ideal candidate should have Bachor degree or above at relevant majors, and minimum 3 year of work experience of construction document, project management/coordination. Construction Administration. Good English shill in preferred. 3. Associate architect The ideal candidates will have 3+ years' experience on a variety of building and planning projects, strong design skills and technical skills. A degree in architecture is required. 4. Intern Architect A professional degree or candidate of architecture; demonstrable creativity; strong skills on model making. 5.
